RVV, short for Copper Core PVC Insulated PVC Sheathed Flexible Cable, is commonly known as flexible sheathed wire. It is a multi-core flexible wire widely used for low-voltage electrical and equipment connections, composed of stranded copper conductors, PVC insulation layers and PVC sheaths.
I. Core Parameters
• Rated Voltage: 300V/500V
• Conductors: Stranded fine copper wires
• Insulation/Sheath: Both made of PVC; insulation heat resistance ≤70℃; laying temperature ≥0℃
• Core Count: Common 2–5 cores (within CCC certification scope); also available in 7–36 cores
• Cross-sectional Area: Mainstream 0.5–2.5mm²; specifications below 0.5mm² or above 2.5mm² are mostly not CCC certified
• Identification: ≤5 cores with color coding; yellow-green wire for grounding; multi-core cables usually adopt black cores marked with white numbers
II. Performance Features
• Flexible and easy to bend, suitable for installation in mobile or narrow spaces
• Insulation and sheath provide basic mechanical protection and moisture resistance
• Basic anti-interference performance; RVVP (shielded type) is recommended for strong interference scenarios
III. Typical Applications
• Control circuits of instruments, building intercom systems, security monitoring and smart home devices
• Flexible power supply and signal transmission for household appliances, small power equipment and lighting systems
• Internal wiring and connection of automation equipment
IV. Selection Tips
• Select cross-sectional area according to load current: 0.75–1.5mm² for control lines, 1.5–2.5mm² for power supply lines
• Bending radius ≥4×outer diameter for fixed installation; ≥15×outer diameter for mobile occasions
• Distinguish between RVV (round wire) and RVVB (flat wire)
